It seems verify-makefile is not compatible with the new yaml format: docs.drush.org/en/master/make

hswong3i CreditAttribution: hswong3i commentedI am also trying to upgrade my DruStack to use the new *.make.yml format, since always fail to build with legacy *.make + drush 8.x.
Therefore now I will need to maintain both *.make and *.make.yml in parallel, in order to work with both drupal.org packaging system + local drush 8.x style, see:
Do we have any plan for upgrade drupal.org packaging system with latest drush 8.x and *.make.yml format?

jhedstromThis should probably be an issue in the infrastructure queue https://www.drupal.org/project/infrastructure as there isn't much to be done in this plugin until there is a plan to move d.o. to a more recent version of drush.

drummYes, see #2281721: Update Drupal.org's drush make for distro packaging so distros are not forced to nest contrib projects inside contrib projects.
