We are a very well funded 20 person startup in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are using Drupal as the prototype for the server component of our product. It’s time for us to decide whether to use Drupal as the base for the production-quality implementation.

We are looking for help in two possible arrangements:

* Consultation on whether Drupal is a reasonable platform on which to build our application. This will be on the order of 5-20 hours.

* Significant development design engineering alongside our current engineers. (10-30 person-weeks, preferably split across 2-3 developers.) We would prefer to engage a single firm or pre-existing team but will also consider individual consultants.

Both of these tasks will need to be done largely on-site in the SF Bay Area.

I'm getting frustrated with trying to set up a few simple things on my own. I'm the type of person that could do this easily if i coded everything from scratch, but I can't quite decipher how to do some relatively simple things with customizing a theme and adding some basic functionality.

$100 Bounty: Convert Flexinode nodes to CCK nodes

The Skinny: Convert ~ 350 nodes that currently use Flexinode to the CCK module. At minimum the new CCK nodes must work appropriately (fully editable with the userreviews still "attached") in my Drupal 5.x upgrade (currently using Drupal 4.7.x).

It would be preferrable that this was done via the Flexinode to CCK Converter module so the updated module and documentation can be contributed back to the community to assist other Drupal users migrating from Flexinode to CCK.

Full Desciption of Issue and Request:

I am actively in the process of migrating from Drupal 4.7.x to Drupal 5.x. In this process I have one substantial hurdle: Flexinode is a 4.7 module with no planned 5.x build. Unfortunately, I have about 350 recipes using a custom node, via Flexinode, called "Recipe". The website is a Recipe website, so abandoning the Recipe nodes isn't an option.

I need to build a comparison tool which compares products of various types. It could be done in two phases. The exact requirement will be detailed in the next document, but here is the analogy to what I need.

Phase1: Product comparison tool

This is similar to many product comparison tool that you would see at many online website. E.g. compare models of digital camera side by side, or models of cars. I would take the example of cars which fits exactly the type I need:

The user should be able to select the following:
1. Car Manufacturer/Make (Honda/Toyota/Ford/BMW etc)
2. Model – Accord, Civic, Camry, Focus, 540
3. Trim – LX/EX/LE

The user should be able to compare just an Accord with Camry or he can decide to choose to compare Accord-LX with a Camry-LE. Of-course the number of fields present in the second comparison in the second field would be much larger.

Ideally I would like to create a content type (CCK) for the following and create a relationship between the two (may be node relativity)
1. Make
2. Model
3. Trim

The part that I need help is where I would like to:
1. Allow users to choose what they would compare (drop down list?)
2. Change the drop down list based on what is already selected – Only display Accord & Civic when Honda is selected (and hide other cars like Camry)
3. Display the data vertically in a table
