I need to notify users of a specific group when content is added and/or modified. I believe the notify module does that, but it notifies automatically using cron at a set interval. I need to instead have the option to manually send notification "instantly." That means, the tweaks needed are: turning off the automation via cron and adding a UI element like a "notify users now" button, as well as targeting a specific user group instead of all the registered users (it can be "hard coded" to always send to same group though).
