Need help migrating your site to Drupal?

Inconsistent module performance

I'm building a site that uses Views and Paths (plus others).

Approximately 5% of the time that a link is clicked, the path reverts to the standard format (node/xxxx) or the particular view that is supposed to display, doesn't.

Whatever the problem is (and I've not encountered it on 3 other development sites) - it could also be why Drupal occasionally forgets that I'm logged in and won't let me do Admin stuff until I click 'back' and hit the link again. This site's due to go live in a few days and I'm getting a little twitchy!

phpBB to Drupal - Unable to connect to database server.

Drupal 4.7.4
CVS ver of phpBB2Drupal (as recomended by readme)

My drupal and phpBB setups are on different data bases, and when I changed that, putting in the information for it and hit save, it gave me the following error msg.

Unable to connect to database server
warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user '[...]_phpb1'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in [...]/commune/includes/database.mysql.inc on line 52.

This either means that the username and password information in your settings.php file is incorrect or we can't contact the MySQL database server. This could mean your hosting provider's database server is down.

The MySQL error was: .

Currently, the username is [...]_phpb1 and the database server is localhost.

* Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
* Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
* Are you sure that the database server is running?

For more help, see the Installation and upgrading handbook. If you are unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your hosting provider.

Stuff removed for my privacy.

Now I cannot get back to the "Configure the migration" page. The error page won't let me through. No, I don't get the error anywhere else. The Drupal install is clean and fresh.

I was exceedingly laze and let cPanel inst

BBCode settings before or after conversion?

Hello, I'm in the process of converting a phpbb forum to a drupal-based forum.

My question is on the BBCode module (along with other input-formatting modules). Does it apply after a node is already made, or does it only apply as the node is stored in the database?

For rationale, I have several non-standard bbcode tags, and I want to know if I need to edit the bbcode module to include those tags before the conversion, or if I can do it on-the-fly after the conversion?

Thanks in advance!

Removing the path to pictures in database

It's maybe not directly related to Drupal, but I hope you could help me out with this problem anyway.
When I take a look at the drupal_user-table there is the path to the users avatars/pictures like:
files/avatars/picture-2.jpg
However, my problem is that I have imported the rest of my users (almost 1.000) from my phpBB forum. Is there a way to give all tables a path in front of the actual value (script)?

Keeping old static .html page URLs

Greetings,

I'm a relativly new user to Drupal, but I'm a long time developer in Wordpress, php-nuke, osComemrce, Zen-Cart, etc.

I just took over a website built with static html pages, and I'm converting it to Drupal. Becasue of the very high serach engine rankings on some of the static pages, I want to make sure I keep the URL's intact. however, I want to begin to manage the content of the page with Drupal.

b2evolution => Drupal (preferably 5.0)

Does anybody have a script for converting b2evolution (1.8) to Drupal (5.0). Even if the version numbers are out of whack (not 1.8 or 5.0) I at least could make (I hope) the necessary changes.

I asked this same question at this thread http://drupal.org/node/69706#comment-185415 but it's buried deep in the Wordpress => Drupal conversion topic.

Any help greatly appreciated.
