Utility conversion program written - wp/b2evolution => Drupal 5.0 rc1

I posted a question about a week ago re - any modules to convert b2evolution (1.8) and Wordpress (2.2) to Drupal 5.0. I didn't get any responses, probably because b2evolution is not as common as Wordpress.

Anyway, the upshot is, I've since written a little utility program (an .exe) which converts Wordpress 2.2 and/or b2evolution 1.8 to Drupal 5.0 rc1. (I suspect 5.0 rc2 would work as well)

What it does is convert all posts and comments from Wordpress/b2evolution to Drupal 5.0 rc1. From b2evolution it also copies across the 'number of reads' to Drupal.

converting existing sites to drupal

I have a handful of older sites which I would like to convert to Drupal. However, since I am an amateur at Drupal and PHP, I wanted to reach out the community and ask for some guidance. I apologize if this if I am repeating some old questions or if these are too simple, but would appreciate any advice and feedback.

Below are some basics about the sites:

* 4 sites are straight HTML. The smallest site is 50-75 pages while the largest is several hundreds pages.

* 3 sites are primarily HTML, but with some javascript, CGI scripts, and relatively popular forums that are based on freeware called Web BBS.

* The sites have good search engine position, so I would like to keep the old static URLs but migrate them to better user friendly URLs over time.

* The sites have a lot of content and links that I would obviously like to keep.

* The sites were built over a period of years so the navigation (borders, headers, footers) is not always consistent. This is a major reason I'd like to convert these to Drupal to give them a consistent look and feel, plus make it easier to update the sites.

FAQs

I'm sure this has been brought up before, but it isn't showing up in a search.

I'd like to have an FAQs page. I tried FAQMasterFlex, but am not super happy with it. Is there a module for FAQs in Drupal? Or is there some way using standard stuff to do it?

import old forum data into a new drupal-forum

hello

does anybody know how (or has an idea where to get more infos) to import old forum data to a new drupal-forum?
all solutions a saw in the forum excluded forum data.

how i manage the relation between forum-nodes and the comments?
maybe i can use the importexportapi or similar solutions but how to structure the data in a cvs-file for example?
or can i paste it directly into the mysql-database? but how to handle the id stuff?

for comments i only use one user: oldforum (thats o.k. because its more a history)

thanks and greetings
sb

Multisite support for G2Image ?

I'm using a multi-site Drupal installation. On two sites I use a gallery (different ones) with Gallery2 and the gallery-module. For Textinput I use TinyMCE with g2image.

But g2image seems not to be compatible with multi galleries. There's only one config.php. And because of g2image is only connected to Drupal via Javascript, the config-options can not be changed in the settings.php of each multi-site.

Is there any solution to get multi-site support for g2image?

Getting Started

I guess I'm just pretty dense. The documentation is not really helping me much. Maybe Drupal is not what I need.

I already have a web site running, but using frames, which the search engines apparently don't like. I could easily switch to a table form, but then I have to add the navigation to each and every page, then update every page when I add to the menu. I don't think so!

So I'm looking at CMS solutions to get around all this stupid stuff.
