I've started experimenting with Drupal for my nonprofit's new website. Before I go too far, I want to find out what's the best way to build and test a new site while keeping the old one up and running.
I hate how joomla breaks without warning and constantly needs to be repaired or fixed even if the site is idle for a month.
I would like some advice on a few things and hope this thread is both allowed and treated as a legitimate request. I bought and read a few chapters of the book and found I need that human guidance.
I would like to convert http://www.carouge-natation.com/ to drupal, and my attempts haven't been successful as of now. Could someone provide me with some advice on the best way to do such a thing? This website was built from scratch using Adobe GoLive by someone else, and it really needs some strong updating.
So far, I have only succeeded in getting stuck with errors when executing the php code I had adapted to drupal.
Here's the error I get:
Trying to convert my existing site (made with Dreamweaver templates).
First of all I would banish duplicate content accessible by /node/xxx
Then it appairs that link like mysite/page/ is accessible also by mysite/page without redirection
I have a light directory script allowing webmasters to inscribe their site into proposed categories. Is there something like that in Drupal ?
