Converting to Drupal

When you first goto the site, it loads OHHHH SOOO SLOW! then the site loads relatively fast for a bit, then slows back down and then fast again. I've heard of some web servers capping speeds on servers that are inactive for certain periods of time, but this is ridiculous!!!!

I've recently converted my vBulletin site to Drupal, and would like to merge my existing admin account with my imported vBulletin account.

Is there any way to do this?

Hey everyone. Let me start of by saying that my boss interviewed a guy who was a drupal pro. The guy really sold how powerful Drupal was, but it wasnt enough for him to get the job I guess. Either way, my boss came to me and told me he wanted to start using Drupal for all future projects. I guess its time to learn a new technology.

I spent over a week, so around 40 hours reading Drupal documentation, playing with my sandbox installation and watching screencast tutorials. I am so overwhelmed right now, and mixed with the stress of my boss wondering why this project wasnt done in 30 minutes (since thats all it wouldve taken the applicant.. with years of Drupal experience..), I dont know what else to do but ask for help. I need to get this done asap. If I could do this project flawlessly, I am pretty sure I can knock out additional projects as well. If you can help me get to that step, I would be eternally grateful!

I have broken down what I need on the site. I have PSD mockups and I already developed them in XHTML/CSS. Now I need to figure out how to harness Drupal's power and have Drupal behave the way I want it to. I have broken down the project I am working on to something like this:

I inherited a website built on joomla 1 platform. I was somewhat familiar with the project as I had been interested in mambo/joomla before learning about drupal and subsequently, moving my other sites to this cms.

I tried to work with it and have had problems with everything. Rather than rebuilding the site into Joomla 1.5 (they seem to offer no upgrade path), I am going to use the cms I prefer and rebuild the site using drupal.
