Converting to Drupal

hi guys:

i am pretty new to drupal. i install imagecache, cck, imagefield, lightbox2 and set two imagecache presets (main and thumbnail). and i also build a image field, but the presets do work when i upload images. uploaded images go to directory-/drupal/sites/default/files, while directory imagecache is empty. how come does this happen?

I know it is a silly question, but please help me out. thanks in advance.

I have been doing some basic work converting existing websites into Drupal sites for small businesses.

My first question involves a form with built-in calculator. The existing site and functionality is here: http://famview.com/heritagesignup.htm Notice how it's real easy, click what you want, each option is already tied to a dollar value, and the script calculates it for you. Is there any module in Drupal that can do this? I like Webform's flexibility but it clearly lacks the numerical aspect.

My second question involves how to get taxonomy to behave as I would like for a local Chamber of Commerce. If you go to this site: http://batesburg-leesvillechamber.org/?q=taxonomy/vocabulary/3 (the current design is temporary, so don't laugh too hard), you will see the member listings. Now if you click on one with multiple entries (take your pick), then the entries will show up in the order of which was most recently modified. This is basically ok for the moment because I was able to put everything in in a reverse-alpha order, so they show up alphabetically. But now if any of them are updated, or different ones are added, they will appear at the top of their respective list. How can I make these always appear in alphabetical order? Though I consider myself a fairly astute individual, I have tried to use Views but honestly find it extremely confusing.

Is there an easy way to convert my site to Drupal?? The joomla permissions are not granular enough. This is my site below and even though its good I believe the enhanced permissions set up may be what I need.

We already have a website and we want to intergrate Drupal in it, so with our lay-out.
But we don't know how, maybe someone could help us?

Is there anything like a manual how to intergrate Drupal in your current website?

I'm converting my site to Drupal but I'm having problems with the flash header. I can get it to show on the main page but it doesn't show on any of the other pages. I embedded it on the page.tpl.php file and placed the swf in the root of the theme directory and of Drupal but nothing works.

I also used curvycorners on my buttons but can't seem to get them working on Drupal. Does anybody have any ideas?

A site move from 5x to 6x has changed all of my term tids.
This was not a big deal until I found out that we had some serps for high-value keywords attached to some /taxonomy/term/tid pages.

Has anyone come across a script to change tids, without breaking taxonomy references in nodes et. al.?

Currently I have added some 301s, but I can only do that for those tids that arent being used in the new system.
