I have taken over a custom build multilingual domain based PHP site. It takes lots of time learning how to modify and form it to the need of the company. Not to speak of, the back end admin, that has some tailored facilities. Basic language is danish.
I am migrating a site to Drupal with a large number of audio files already resident on the host. I need to be able to insert the files into the nodes, but I don't want to have to download all the files to a local machine just so I can re-upload them as a CCK FileField. Can anyone help suggest a solution - perhaps I could insert the references directly into the database using a script.
It seems like this would be something someone has had to do before - perhaps someone has some code that allows the FileField UI to select a local file?
I'm working on migrating our current school website from frontpage to drupal. Our school has a daily bulletin that is posted on the website each day in pdf format. I manually upload this pdf file to our frontpage website each day, replacing the old pdf file.
In drupal, would there be a way that I could set it up so that the people in the office could easily upload the daily bulletin themselves? I am picturing a simple upload form that will automatically replace the old pdf file with the new one that they specify.
I’m pretty good with HTML and CSS, and my PHP is coming along. I created a site (localhost, not on line yet) that consists of static pages. It’s set up like a book, where the content doesn’t change. Everything was going well until I decided to add comments so I would be able to receive feedback. If the site becomes popular, I would want to add a forum too. Realizing the potential for spam and intrusion attacks with email, comments, and forums – I decided to look into CMS. I spent some time with Wordpress, but it isn’t versatile enough to handle my site’s many different page structures. I’m starting to think the same is true of Drupal.
