Converting to Drupal

Hey,

I am actually trying to manage a website that has already been on drupal. I am trying to add a new module to this website but I dont know where (which folder) to place it to access it from Drupal. On the file system section of configuration, the file system path simply says :"sites\default\files".

Where would this be located? Is this on a specific computer or ... ?

I am new to Drupal, and am a designer not a coder, so please take it easy and explain slowly :D.

What I am after is a 'feature products' slidehow, so i hope i've posted in the correct place.

I 've searched google and drupal, and can't find what i'm after (saying that, as i said i'm not a coder, so it's probably staring at me without realizing.)

I have a products page with 14 different categories, and x number of products within each.

Some friends and I currently run a small site that was created in Joomla and has a phpbb3 forum. We wanted a better CMS than Joomla so we looked around and found Drupal. So far Drupal was worked perfectly and we have been able to create an alpha site created entirely in Drupal that has all the functionality that was originally desired for our front page.
