Going from Wordpress to Drupal?

Is it common for people to migrate to Drupal from Wordpress? I want to add some custom/advanced functionality to my website and I think it would be much easier to do with Drupal. However, I have already spent a lot of time/money on Wordpress so it's hard to make the decision. If you have done this before, was it worth it?

Migrating a ColdFusion site to Drupal

Hello, and Happy 2011 to you all,

I am seeking info on how to migrate a ColdFusion site to Drupal (6 or 7)-

If anyone knows of documentation, forum posts, etc. on this site, or any other web site, books, publications, sites, podcasts ... anything shedding light on this topic, I would greatly appreciate it!

Cheers,

Migrating to Drupal - Create entity or use nodes?

Hi,

We are looking to move an existing site to Drupal 7. I've been reading Drupal 7 Module Development and came across the Chapter 6 where it is apparent developers can create their own entities.

Trying to get Drupal to work the way my old PHP management system worked...

It could be totally impossible, but I'm trying to see if Drupal will be able to work like my old content management system worked - which was that it did almost nothing except what I told it to... and that was great.

Basically, my site used to be run by PHPns, before it stopped getting updated, and prior to that CutePHP... before it also stopped getting updated. I would have multiple categories and templates, and I would simply include them on my already created website so the program would just include the articles in places I wanted them, using a code it generated. I had a navigation include and a news include, as well as a page include. To create a new page, I would simply make a new category and article, then on the navigation I would make a link like main.php?page=37 or something and when someone clicked that link, my site would go retrieve that article and display it in the spot I designated on the site.

Import dynamic php site with SEF url but without database into drupal

As non-profit, we are running several sites. All of them are dynamic php sites. CSS is used for styles, htaccess with rewrite_rule for SEF URLs. The index.php holds the header and side-bar with navigation and calls up the body content. Each body content page is a straight-forward php page without any coding. The php coding in the index.php provides a unique title, keywords, and description for each page. No javascript active, no databases used with the sites!.

importer : mysql to drupal node

Hi,
Is there any script (commandline) for batch-importing data from another database (mysql) to Drupal 6 or 7?
That is, if anyone made sort of script for real time importing only cck fields from another database to Drupal nodes?

Thanks and cheers
