Converting to Drupal

hello!
I have a php-file that starts perl-script.
shell_exec is not executing in drupal. I am inserting it in node as php code, but it doesn't work. Why doesn't it work?

#!/usr/bin/perl

$res = `ssh aaa\@1.1.1.1 sudo /usr/local/bin/file.pl`;
print $res;
exit 1;

When I do it in shell, everything works.

All ideas are welcome.

Hi - We are seriously considering moving off of ektron to drupal. I don't have a sense of the amount of work it takes to migrate to drupal. Are there any useful guides or estimating tools out there that can help to understand what exactly is involved in moving to the drupal platform? I know this is a broad question but I need somewhere to start. Thanks for any assistance.

Hi, I have recently introduced to Drupal. I have been developing using php. But I found Drupal is a very good alternative. I have installed Drupal-7.0 in my system and being able to migrate my php work into it, but with some issues. My issues are as follows -
1. I don't know how to create my looks as per my need
2. How to use my old css

when importing the XML file from my Wordpress blog to Drupal.
It says:

I select blogpost as blogpost and page as page.
I import it it says "imports 1 out of 1".

And then it says: Import successful:
0 nodes
0 comments
0 authors
0 categories
0 tags

Does anybody understands what happens there?
