Does anyone know if HotDrupal shared hosting plans have a static IP

I'm finally ready to purchase a hosting plan and I'm finding that choosing a good one is harder than I had originally thought, even harder than getting the hang of Drupal itself. Although I eventually plan on a VPS, I'm wanting to start out with a shared plan and see how it goes.

With that being said, It would seem that almost every hosting company has its faults, with most being deal-breakers (e.g. very-bad reviews, lack of PHP-5.3.x, lack of CPanel, etc...). In fact, I have only found one host that looks ideal, Hot Drupal (hotdrupal.com), though I can't seem to find any information on whether they have static IPs or not.

I had submitted a question form on their website last weekend and have not yet received a reply, which would seem like a bad sign in of itself. However, there seems to be some pretty good reviews here on Drupal.org and everything else looks great.

Is anyone here familiar with Hot Drupal and if so, do their shared hosting plans offer static IPs?

Due to the seemingly great reviews of Hot Drupal, I'm assuming that my "contact submission" just fell through the cracks. However, I'm needing to purchase a hosting plan soon, thus I will likely go with IX web hosting if I can't figure out whether Hot Drupal offers static IPs for their shared hosting plans (unless of course someone can point out a reason why I shouldn't go with IX).

public file system and temporary directory paths

Hello,

After I uploaded my site to my host, pair.com, when I tried to set the public file system and temporary directory
paths I got the error message:

"The directory sites/default/files exists but is not writable and could not be made writable. The directory usr/tmp does not exist and could not be created."

Pair.com responded:

Editor showing up after installation but not working after click save.

Okay, I'm lost here with the WYSIWYG API...I installed the WYSIWYG API, installed TinyMCE and ckeditor and WYSIWYG API recognizes them so I set them to be my default editor then it work normal but when i submit or save it doesn't work. (Everything is unknown HTML tags.

what am I missing?

Thanks

Godaddy: changing memory_limit, post_max_size and upload_max_filesize, php.ini

After reading this and this forum, I managed to increase the values of memory_limit, post_max_size and upload_max_filesize on godaddy.com.

Here are the steps in short:

* download godaddy's own php5.ini file (not php.ini) from /web/conf (using SFTP software)
* change the values
* upload it into your /html (root) folder

Software Installation Manager

Hello and thanks in advance,

I'm looking to take down my old pair.com website on my domain and upload a new drupal site. Pair.com said they use a Software Installation Manager to upload drupal 7. Has anyone used this?

Thanks,
