Vietnamese Translation and Scripts

Hi,
I've just learned of Drupal and think it's a neat idea. I have experience in attaching JavaScripts to phpBB to convert english to Vietnamese on the fly. I would like to help do that with Drupal, if that is not too time consuming.

First question, are all of these textareas and textfields collected in one module or one place?

If that is the case, then it'll be much easier to attach a script to convert to Vietnamese unicode. If the textareas/textfields are spread out (for forum text vs bookpage text , etc.), then it might take some work.

The Simplified Chinese Translation started

I'm working on it and will be available in 2 weeks。

and, since it's the first time I translate Drupal ,I have some question, how to make the .pot file into a big .PO file?
or how to upload so much .pot file once to Drupal?

Starting a Tagalog (Filipino) Translation

Good day guys,

A friend and I am currently working on the translation of the Drupal GUI into the Tagalog or Filipino language. I have translated about 2 files from the translation template and am looking to first have a substantial contribution at hand before posting it for the CVS.

I hope that there will be developers who would help me setup this project within Drupal.

I was inspired to do this since me and my friend are also part of the team working on the translation of Xaraya into the same language. We are looking to finish this in the soonest possible time.

Importing a Translation

I'm very sorry to post this in the wrong forum, but I think translation is a complicate subject that needs a specialized type of answer. I posted this in the "How do I" forum for a couple of days with no response.

I've searched for a while but everyone seems to have different problems than I. I have used the localization module of drupal 4.6 to import the 100% completed spanish es.po file into the spanish language. However it shows 0/590 translated 0%. To confirm this, I search the strings of those translated and not translated and get the same results.

german dead?

Its very sad to see that the templates havent been put on cvs head for everybody to work on the new strings ... could somebody with cvs access plz initialize the new templates after branching the the 4.5 files?

some menu strings are not translated

I am learning drupal and am fascinated by its ease of use.

After translating my page (local installation with php5 on OSX 10.3) to german with the drupal-4.5 de-strings i found the following problem:

most of the menu entries are not translated. But the localized string is there. As far as I can see all menus from modules are not translated others are (but not 'create content') Here is my menu:
