Mirroring nodes?

Hello,

When I post an image with a teaser and a body message and I want the text part of this node to appear in two languages, in that case:

- do I have to create a new node?
- most importantly, if I have to create a new node, do I have to upload the same image again? I hope not bc that will eat up a lot of disk space

Thanks for your help,

Esperanto translation

Hi, Dima and I have translated 61% of the Drupal strings into Esperanto which is available at TEJO - Drupalo. How can I upload this file to the main Drupal site, so other web developers can more easily find it? Thanks!

What does "Plural-Forms: nplurals=1; plural=0;\n" mean?

Hello,

After importing a po file (generated with extractor.php), I got the following error:

The translation file contains an error: the plural formula could not be parsed.

Then I changed in the header:

nplurals=INTEGER to nplurals=1 and
plural=EXPRESSION to plural=0

After that, I don't get the error anymore, but I have no idea what I did, could somebody explain or point me to the relevant pages?

Thanks,

Simple translation howto?

Hello,

Could anyone summarize the steps involved in translating a contributed module?

WHat I did so far was:

1) cd to the directory of the module

2) run extractor.php on that dir (this generates the module pot file, e.g. cart-module.pot)

3) move and rename the pot file to po/nl.po

4) edit the po file with a text editor (vi in my case), e.g. for the cart submodule from ecommerce, I change the following

#: cart.module:13
msgid "Shopping Cart"
msgstr ""

into:

POT files -- where | how?

Servus, folks.

Trying to translate various contributed modules to German I found quite some which don't provide that .pot file. Is there an easy way for me to create such a file from the PHP sources of that module? Or have I to bug the respective authors to provide such a file?

TIA,

Norbert

i18n 4.7 translation block : can language strings be localized?

Hi all,
I have recently installed drupal 4.7.3 as well as the i18n module (version 4.7) for multilingual support (in order to support two different languages). I used the Translations block so that users will be able to switch between the two languages, translated the interface strings, and localized some of the variables to be language dependent.But I have a problem with the language strings appearing in the Translations block. I can not make them language depended (they always appear in english - which is the default language of the site).
