Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

Forum Terms and Access Control

Is there a way to define access control for a particular user type to a specific forum term?

Meaning, can I hide a Forum Term (and all the child topics) from all but one user tyep?

The access control does not seem to go to that level of access, only allowing options to Post a Topic, not defining read or write access for terms.

This worked well in phpBB, but I would rather try to jsut use teh Drupal Forums.

Thoughts?

Posting images in drupal nodes with Word 2007?

Does the XML-RPC blog API support posting of images in content in any way?

I'm asking because I've used drupal for a while now and am perfectly capable of posting stories to my site including images, but I also have been using OneNote 2007 for a lot of things and decided to try the "Blog This" capability as an alternative, more convenient method of publishing content to my site. OneNote converts the current page or section to a word doc and then attempts to publish via Word's blog posting feature. I've managed to get Word to post a story to my site just fine, but it says that my blog provider doesn't support posting pictures as a picture provider.

So is the problem that drupal just doesn't support it? Or perhaps it does but I need to configure word differently?

As I mentioned above, I know how to create content using core drupal modules and extra modules like IMCE and the javascript editors. I'm just looking for a possibly more convenient approach since I'm already using OneNote and Office 2007 for other reasons.

BTW, if the MetaWebLog apis just don't support posting images, might there be a way to configure Word to upload images using a custom Picture Provider that you specify for your blog account.

For example, see this snapshot: http://www.eeaston.com/node/100

I'm getting the following error when trying to add images with Acidfree. Suggestions?

PHP block, interesting issue.

Well, I have created a block with some php in it. The php reads the a file (fopen) and some information in it and displays it in a new format. 'Till yesterday it was all working fine. The format of the file I have been reading has changed so I changed the php code. Actually not much changed just a couple of lines inserted in the original file so I changed my php code to read few more lines. I just increased the number in the array that is all. When I submitted the newly changed code it didn't accept it. Drupal gave me Page not found error.

Help with Views and CCK

Ok, this is what im trying to do.

Im using Jrating and was wondering if its possible to have some way of counting votes (the number of votes not the average)

Then I would like to display things based on the # of votes.

I assume I would use views and CCK, but does anyone know how i would do this or if i could do this??

Cache Lockout?

How can I turn off cache from within the database? I've tried emptying the cache table but still have the same problem on two different sites.

The problem is that a user can log in successfully, but any 2nd page viewed causes the user to be logged out. Hence why I'm unable to turn off caching from the admin/settings page.

I'm not sure why this started happening all of a sudden, but the exact same problem is happening with two different Drupal installs...
