I upgraded to 7.24 today and cannot locate my /tmp directory to place a .htaccess file there. The /#overlay=admin/config/media/file-system page shows my "Temporary directory" to be "/tmp". I only have ftp access to my server and do not see /tmp at the top level.
ftp> pwd

ftp> dir tmp

my multisite has 8 total domains, 4 of which are subdomain. 6 of them are working fine. 2 of them, despite being set up exactly the same, are having image problems. one won't show the logo, and both are not showing files. (the broken image icon)
the file system for all sites is: sites/domain.name/files.
even on the one with the logo problem, even when i re-uploaded the logo, it doesn't appear.
very frustrating. these two sites are set up correctly. no reason for them to not be working. or is there?
Yesterday I updated one of my sites to 7.24. All went well until I ran cron and got this error: Notice: Undefined index: version_major in update_calculate_project_update_status(). It's from /modules/update/update.compare.inc and I think it relates to the elFinder module. On the Available Updates page, elFinder is now flagged with "No available releases found," and when I disable that module the undefined index error goes away.
i am using Greengeeks for D7 hosting. my main domain is installed at public_html (all the install folders/files are at public_html). there are no errors; i start the upgrade process & receive the message that there are no updates. and even though all the files are from 7.24, the database is stuck on 23, so no upgrade. the site continues to work fine, but no upgrade.
and Greengeeks tech support is fixated on a theme-related error they saw (and i did not report). i switched to Bartik (no error) & still can't upgrade. not finding that anyone else is having trouble upgrading.
