D7 > D8 Blog upgrade

As you probably know, the blog content type has been moved out of Drupal 8 core. There is Blog module that replicates the blog functionality. However, somewhere along the way it was decided to change the content type machine name. D7 core blog uses "blog" whilst the contributed module uses "blog_post".

After upgrade, everything is Page Not Found

Hi Everyone,

I'm not to Drupal. Coming from Wordpress background.
I installed Drupal. That worked fine. I then upgraded to a new version.

I believe I did everything correctly.
The site shows up.
The front page works fine.

When I click around, I get a 'Page Not Found' error.
Not really sure what is happening here.

I read somewhere about mod-rewrite.
I added phpinfo.php and nothing out of the blue.
I do not see that there.

They say that it may be the htaccess file but nothing out of the ordinary on mine.

8.0.6 worked, 8.1.3 does not work, why?

I had 8.0.6 working on a local test system and then upgraded to 8.1.3 and it won't work.
white screen error. got a few apache errors about modules. removed them and then no errors in the log but drupal just sits there loading and never does.
then removed all tables and removed all modules. still 8.1.3 stalls on installing.
when I type site/install it shows site/core/install.php so something is happening but just stalls.
i have php 5.6.x.
my local Drupal 7 works fine.

why would 8.0.x work but 8.1.x not load?

Presenting Maintenance Mode To Users During Upgrade

I posted this question quite a while ago but did not get any responses and still would like to know the answer. Forgive me if it is a "dumb question".

Notice: Undefined index: distribution_name in drupal_install_profile_distribution_name() (line 207

So. I have install.inc pulled up.

Line 207 is: return $info['distribution_name'];

What do I need to edit here to make the error message go away? Help? This occurred on the upgrade to 7.44
