Drupal 8.x

Hello,

I am currently developing a ecommerce website, and I am searching a shipping schedule for logged clients.

I explained: clients logged in the website, they purchase items, then the admin put a shipping date on the command, the clients receive an alert by mail and when they connect on their website account, they can see a calendar with the shipping date.

Is there a module that can do it?
(I am open for any ecommerce module)

I'm not a Drupal developer but a pro Drupal site builder. I can read PHP and able to tweak and even write some code. I was thinking about learning the development but came across this idea that in D8 we have symphony and some other big changes. Now the question is that shall I start learning D8 dev or I should start with D7 dev?

So far, I've tried building test sites with 3 or 4 alpha builds of Drupal 8. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE how that from the get go it works without issue whatsoever regardless of platform. In all honest, though, I've only tried on an Android phone, and I've tried on a Windows-based PC with a couple of different browsers.

Now to my question/issue, hoping that maybe I'm doing something wrong, so I can go and try more. And maybe it's just that there are no usable modules to date for Drupal 8 (Yes, I realize it's only in alpha still).

I found a MS SQL Server "driver" (sort of database API layer extension) for Drupal 7 in https://drupal.org/project/sqlsrv . This driver seems to work with Drupal 7, but I couldn't find anything for Drupal 8.

Does Drupal 8 support MS SQL natively? Or... is there any extension for Drupal 8 allowing to use MS SQL as the database engine?

hook_views_plugins_display_alter :

views_ui_views_plugins_display_alter(&$plugins)

i'm trying to see deep in $plugins variable,
so i use dpm ( $plugin);
but it seems this hook doesnt "fire"

how could i do in order to see in $plugins variable ?
