Exmaple massive sites using drupal

Hi

I'm considering using Drupal for a project, but the site is pretty big. We're talking 500,000+ visitors per day, thousands of products across hundreds of categories, lots of product types, updated all the time.

Does anybody have any examples, e.g. if Wall Mart or Barnes & Noble used Drupal, those would be great examples.

I'm looking for sites which (a) have huge volumes of users (b) huge amounts of content and varied (c) complex customer journeys.

Thoughts?

Make files Secure

Hi,

So I have a site where some pages need an account and to be logged into see. But if I upload files to specific pages that are password protected, I can open the link to the file in a browser that isn't logged in. I won't be able to see the password-protected page, but I can see the document that I uploaded without logging in.

Is there a way to make files on a secure page too?

I'd really appreciate the help.

Thanks!

Email configuration

Hi, I am a new user of Drupal.
I have just installed Drupal using xampp, to run a blog, and cannot figure out why is Drupal not sending emails.
Using the basic configuration of mail to disk from xampp, all emails get sent to the mai output folder but are not sent to the recipients.
According to xampp there is nothing to do on the php.ini file, it's supposed to work as it is, or am I missing something?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

D8: headless drupal / bootstrap to a lower level

(Not sure if this is the best place to post, and could not find information from searches. Very new to D8)

I am interested in separating out the theme layer from the server to the client (using angularjs, but shouldn't matter to the drupal side). The client side would be on a CDN and make RESTful calls to the CORS drupal app server. (Possibly pushing published node/content chunks off to the CDN.) I am also interested in a highly scalable drupal and would like to bootstrap it to lower levels like DATABASE or if needed for an authenticated user, SESSION.

[Solved] Facebook post doesn't show title, body content and pictures

Hello.
I am not sure this is the right place to ask about this but I tried to google this and found nothing useful. When I publish a page from my drupal based web site in facebook I see no title, body content and image. My website is kravmaga.md. How can I fix this?
Thank you.

When will Drupal 8 ship?

According to Dries Buytaert, Drupal founder and lead, "Once we get to 0 critical issues, we'll basically throw a party and release Drupal 8. I don't know exactly when that will be, but I'm guessing it that it maybe early or middle of next year":
