Can I create this?

Hi, i'm new to Drupal, and i want to know if it's possible to create a site where in the main page i put boxes that lists the lastest 5 entries of a section (lets say sports) like most newspaper sites have, aside from the main content that the main page has. And if there is available a module that can list the most read articles and the most commented.
I would be happy if someone can at least outline what i will need to learn in order to make it.

Thanks in advance!
Sorry for my english

Multisites with Drupal

I am installing Drupal on a Linux server where I will be hosting multiple sites for multiple clients. With one install of Drupal is it possible to configure permissions based on account type (as a group) or differently per client website?

Is Drupal right for this project?

Hello everyone, I have read the documentation but it is still a bit unclear. I have a project and the requirements are as follows:

Needs: Member login area

- 140 members
- require unique usernames and passwords for each
- administrator privileges to set accessibility levels for each member
- ability to brand (at least with corporate colour) the login and interior (top banner etc. basic stuff)
- ability to post Word, PDF, Excel etc
- ability to make/leave comments

Permissions: Node module ... how do I modify the "view" permissions for a node type?

Naturally, all of the CRUD operations are available on all content types with standard Drupal:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Create,_read,_update_and_delete

If you use the less-well-known codeword "VEDAS" ... (for view, edit, delete, add, search )
these are all available as well.

The question is, how can you set role-based permissions on the "View" operation and the "Search" operation?

Need some guidance

I Know there is a lot of questions like this, but I would appreciate any help.
Im building a paid membership website, where I will be uploading and displaying videos. This videos will be streamlined and not downloadable.
Is drupal right for this ?? or Wordpress better ??or something else??

Can Drupal Manage 100 million users

We're about to launch a site where we expect a hyperbolic increase in registered users from 0 to 100 million in 18 months.

We need a CMS that can grow as we grow, or which can be 'easily' replaced as our registered user number increases.

At first, we'll only have five pages that include Flash and a My Account page with a contact form. But over the first six months, we'll also add a newsletter facility, blog, contact forms, groups and forum. At some point, we'll be migrating from shared server to dedicated servers, etc.
