Hi, folks. I am standing at the base of a steep learning hill. So far, my project consists of a domain name and some concept mockups. I think Drupal might be the right tool for this project, but I want to be sure before I jump too far in. Also, fwfw, I have outdated, rusty programming skills.
In addition to learning if Drupal is the right tool, I also would love to hear any suggestions for how to get it done (in terms of modules, etc.) and any other advice, etc.
In brief, the project is a resource directory with three main interfaces:
Hi there! I'm very new to websites/drupal and I need some help. I have a video production/video editing business and need a solid site to showcase my work. The site will need to be able to show videos of my work for potential clients. It will be all high def video, but i can show it at a lower resolution for customers with less bandwidth. My hosting is with blue host (cheap for a start up business) and the domain is through Go Daddy.
ive been trying to find something in the drupal modules that would allow a user to search a particular db table and retrieve the information associated with it. just a simple search, and return the information in the row. ive been messing around with table wizard and views, im not really sure if thats what i should be looking at, then again it is 2:40 am and i need sleep....
if any of you have ideas to point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.
http://www.gq.com/ (Although I want it a little bit cleaner. To me, that's too much on the front page)
How would I go about doing this?
My aim for this site is to have the hottest urban news (NOT up to minute news, that would be a blog. This isn't a blog) , Music/Movie/Game reviews, Urban Fashion (everything from Hollister to Zoo York) , and eventually a forum. And no I'm not trying to be Allhiphop.com .
I am new to Drupal, LAMP and Linux and would really like to hear the voice of experience.
My skill level: I have experience with programming Access in VBA, SQl Server and ASP. I have made and customized several ASP carts in e-com web sites.
So we want to upgrade the e-com site for our family business to a Drupal site with a compatible cart, likely Ubercart. Before getting started, we want to be sure we have the best setup for development.
