Before you start

My sister offers swimming clinics. She wants to have a site where her students can log in and view the underwater videos recorded of them along with the annotations, comments, suggestions and content specific to each of the members.

I need to know if Drupal is the right tool for creating such a site and what modules should I be looking at to be able to implement this. If Drupal is not the right tool then please suggest one.

I will be doing this for her for free. I'm new to CMS and have no knowledge of web programming but I'm willing to learn in the process.

I got my drupal website working.
Now I would like to add multiple sites on that install so I could use those more sites for more arranged sections for my main site.

Now I am wondering that what files I need to add and where to get multi site to feature to work.
Also I do wonder that will address be like mywebsite.com/sites/name or can it be changed somehow ?

I have read through much of the beginner documentation.

Im considering using drupal as our intranet solution.

But it must be easy and intuitive for its users to write stories/forum topics/posts/articles etc, and choose both users and groups to which it is assigned.

Im unsure if i sould use nodeaccess, node_access og ACL+Forum and Content Access.

Our organization are kind of two hierarchies. One that all employees are members of. With a board of directors, and multiple suborg. An employee kan be member for more than one suborg. or none.

I've been researching portals for a little while now and have some questions I am hoping you can help me out with. I'm evaluating a few portals trying to decide what would be the best solution for a company I'm starting. Below are the attributes I'm looking for. Please give me your thoughts on Drupal's performance in these areas.

I am actually fairly familiar with Drupal, and if we decide to use LAMP technologies, Drupal would be my only choice. So I'm not just evaluating portals but web technologies as well.
