A basic question about Blocks

Hello.

I have a first basic question about the role of blocks into Drupal.

- I created 3 articles.
- I created a block, without any content in it.

Is there a way to put the 3 articles into the block I created for ?

(-> I ask this question as I thought a block could be a kind of "container" of several articles/pages/or other nodes, to allow working on the CSS to change the design of this group of articles/pages/nodes... But it seems it is not the case...)

Use Drupal for MySQL database?

Hello:
An existing FileMaker Pro database is being used to contain bibliographical records. These records are located on a server which is shared among a few internal users. I've been asked to research migrating this huge database to a MySQL-based database which can be accessed by the internal users online (intranet).

Events Calendar, How Best To Handle This...

Hello!
This isn't so much a technical question, as asking for advice on something. I run a website that caters to the anime community of the south, and one of the site's biggest draws is its Event Calendar, listening anime conventions all over the area. I'm finally moving up to Drupal (6.x that is), hoping to launch the site on January 1st, and the current Event Calendar under construction ( http://dev.animebelle.com/node/34 ) seems like a waste of Drupal's capabilities.

Messing around with new fun site, could use feedback on what goes into or skips Drupal

Howdy,
Here's a comp to look at: home page, rollover from home page

To further beef up Drupal skills and just have fun, I'm making a site for the MMORG EVE-Online with tools and such you can use in the game. The game has its own web browser, a new one in fact released today built around Google Chome's engine (if I remembered correctly). The browser integrates with game data like your current location in the game, making this way fun!

I could use some feedback on what to integrate with Drupal, and what not to. Don't hold back, I've been using Drupal much lately and love PHP.

Primary nav
The rollovers for two links bring up a non-standard drop down menu. Is there a way to add onrollover/out functions to the primary nav anchors, or should I just make static navigation with all my rollover goodness? (I prefer the first route)

Rollover menus
These are pretty customized. Should I try to incorporate some kind of blocks, or just make it part of my theme page.tpl.php file?

jQuerry/AJAX heavy in-game tools

Once and for all: ODBC??

I've just started looking into drupal for a project at work. The main restriction is that I have to use a specific database that isn't mysql or postgres, but does support ODBC and PHP ODBC connection. The drupal site is huge, and I have been trying to search to find out if drupal will work with ODBC, which versions, and how easy it is for ODBC connectivity.

Is Drupal the right tool for me?

I'm looking to see if Drupal could be the right product for a website I am putting together for a future business venture.

The future business is a pool service business. With that in mind I have a list of functionality I'd like built into the site.

1) Main page - typical CMS features, nice header, etc - use a good theme - nothing out of the ordinary.

2) Clients able to view when their service is scheduled (not see all other service schedules)

3) Clients able to pay online without having to register/login.

4) Client billing history
