Before you start

Hello Everyone,

I got a simply question but I did not find the answer on the forum.
I would like to create a static website but with a blog inclued. One of my tab will integrate the blog.

Is there a plugin to do that or should I install another CMS blog and make a redirection.

Who am I? I am a student in college. I am partnered with 3 other students. What do I know? Well not much! Nothing about Drupal that is.

What we need to do:

We were assigned to create a website portal/ informational site for a Not For Profit (NFP) business called SCS. Within the site will be many content/informational pages about SCS and an area where you could view the "member NFP businesses." A member NFP business would join SCS so they can be featured on the website. It is basically a NFP community where these NFP come together and work for the greater good of the local community.

What needs to be on the site:
-Content pages
-Possibly a blog section, news section, links to facebook & social outlets
-Area where we can view all partner NFP

Functionality:
-When all is said and done we need to hand off this site to SCS.. meaning we will not be a part of that. This means they, with no programming exp., need to be able to update content, blogs, news, & partners.

Our problem:
We looked at doing a simple HTML but as far as updating the site, it doesn't seem realistic. Also the look of the site will be weak and using dream weaver or something isn't something we really want to do.

My Question:

My organization is looking to replace our current CMS with another CMS. So far we have two strong candidates: Drupal and eZ Publish. They leaning towards eZ Publish, but in my opinion that's a mistake as I think Drupal is a better way to go. I'm not very familiar with neither of CMS, but I've seen a lot of sites running Drupal and none running eZ Publish, so for whatever reason(s) folks went with Drupal. Would that be possible for someone to shows some pros and cons why is it better to go with Drupal and not eZ Publish?

I need to make my first website in Drupal, and I don't know if it's better to start with Drupal 6.x ou with 7.x.

is there a video for the latest version tutorial?

Will Drupal 7 run on PHP 5.3 ?
