I am trying to set up a site that informs members about political issues in a non partisan way. I have been working in Joomla but like some features of Drupal. I need a debate feature on my site and have found a site that does that feature almost exactly how I want to http://www.createdebate.com/ and have asked about thier method. They have the issue at the top and comments/arguments pro on one side and con the other. They have voting on each comment/argument and the arguments with the most votes are moved to the top.
I am planning to create a small volunteer portal with the following flow:
User logs "volunteer for vacation" time using a simple node with CCK date, number, text fields
Manager approves or rejects the entry using a CCK status field, secured by role
If approved, Payroll dept gets final approval or rejection of the entry
I have two questions based on this flow:
When the manager edits the node to approve it, will the original user still be listed as the content author, or do I need to use an additional CCK user field on node creation to store this info?
I'm looking at setting up a small site which will have some database content, can Drupal do this? I understand it can interact with mySQL... however I have no knowledge of PHP!
It needs to have various normal web pages for information with an area which visitors can search for suppliers matching some criteria and maybe list all suppliers to review too.
Trying to find documentation on how to setup Sqlite. I want the database to be on a separate server, so can anyone link me to documentation showing me how to do this. Thanks!
Hello, I am new to this and looking for general guidance on establishing a web site and to see if Drupal is right for what I want to do.
I wish to develop a web site on which I host a library of e-training manuals, mainly to do with agricultural technologies for distribution to people in rural areas. The training manuals (text based) are to be capable of having video and audio/powerpoint demonstrations (or mini-tutorials) embedded. I see two elements to the business: 1. a service provided to author, create and host training manuals for clients and 2: a capability to self-publish technical resource manuals (perhaps by a rural community group) for hosting on my site - for this I need simple self publishing tools such as templates, drag and drop frames (if that is the right term!) into which to insert/embed images, video, PowerPoint (or equivalent) turorials can be embedded.
I also want to provide for hosting training manuals for specific clients who wish to have their own, private space with access for their approved trainees only. May also allow for customising the look of their space to be consistent with their organisational image.
This site needs to generate some income and so some payment model needs to be incorporated (either subscription or pay-per view, other?) Some will be made available for free if self publishers would like.
