Is Drupal a viable solution for my website? Please review What is Drupal before posting.

I need some honesty...

I am trying to figure out if I should use Drupal or Ruby on Rails for a project and want some feedback from the community. I am not looking for a philosophical discussion on which is better because we all know they are 2 completely different beasts. I am looking for a consensus on which tool I should use for my needs. I love both Drupal and ROR but am stuck on deciding which to use. Also, I have limited experience with both so there is going to be a learning curve either way I go.

My site deals with child custody and the center of the site will revolve around a calendar. The calender will have the days when each parent will have the child(ren). I also want to have the ability to attach notes to each day on the calendar. I know both will do this with some coding. Another important feature of the site will to all the person who creates the account to attach the other parent with an account (sub account) and allow the child(ren) to see the calendar. So they will need an account as well. Each of these accounts will be a child account of the account creator. The account holder will have the ability to "allow" the sub account holders access to certain features.

Physician's Office Website

I have been asked to build a website for a physician's practice and am looking for sites that have already been built using Drupal. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Does Drupal has Paid Membership/Subscription Module

Greetings,

I 'm looking for a feature in which my users can pay to me while registering for the account. Once registered they then have access to premium information and content.

I have searched a free way to do it on Joomla and Wordpress but so far I haven't found a solution, so here I am at Drupal,

Thank you.

Drupal + Forum/Community integration

We currently run a custom-coded CMS with vBulletin as the separate forum area and a vBadvanced front-end, which is far from ideal. We were hoping that vBulletin's new CMS/Publishing Suite would enable us to integrate everything, but it seems (at this stage) that it isn't going to happen any time soon.

Product Comparison Guide

We want to do a product comparison guide to compare different pieces of equipment, very similar to how a compare now works in a shopping cart but we do not want the cart. Does any one know if there are any modules that will allow us to do that in Drupal ?

I want to use Drupal instead of wordpress in this project. A few comparisons please.

Hi, I really want to use Drupal instead of Wordpress as a CMS for my next project because what the client wants is of a bigger scope than is possible with wp as a cms. I really like how quickly it is to get up and running with wp as a cms, but then it feels a bit hacky to get the whole thing streamlined e.g. with regards to plugin customisation etc.

Anyway, my point is that there are some simple plugins for wp and I want the similar functionality for the drupal site (I've got drupal installed and run through some tuts to build a simple cms so I'm past that stage)
