Before you start

I'm considering using drupal to build a media catalog to organize our 600+ software CDs that's currently kept in a google spreadsheet. I'd create a custom content type with CCK fields for the columns I need. What module would I use to import that CSV file?

If there's a better option I'm open to ideas...

We're a small studio that has been looking at Drupal for a while. Now we have a prospective client who wants a medium sized site, with 8 or 9 templates (each quite complex).

I know it's 'how long is a piece of string', but roughly how long do you think we should be allowing for building the site framework once we have template code?

I want to create a community web site that is based around a simple survey. You say where you live and why you chose to live there, with details on realtor choice, cost of your home, etc. Users will then see survey results grouped by location and type of home they chose. They can only view this data after taking the survey themselves.

Is this something I can do with Drupal? Any idea on how I would start?

I'm completely new to drupal and don't have a lot of experience with web development, so apologies if the questions are overly naiive (though I do have a lot of experience as a C++ and fortran programmer and administering unix systems).

I've ben asked to create a site which, apart from a "public" (general public) and "private" (to be accessed by members) sites would include the management of two databases: 1) basically an address book on steroids and 2) a portfolio of images. It is important that these are searchable, can be viewed as lists and can be exported.

Hey, I'm making a drupal website for a rock climbing company and it requires the following functionality
1) employee profiles packed with pictures and junk, as well as availability information
2) a schedule page, that displays what instructors are working at a given time and gives some indication as to whether or not they have room for another student during that 30min-1hour session
3) online booking that will update the schedule upon completion of a purchase
