Our server admin is requiring that our new site has a MSSQL database and not a MySQL database. We were planning on building a Drupal 8 website (as we're drupal experts), but after doing a bit of research it just looks like any existing MSSQL support for Drupal is spotty, and in such low demand that it won't be getting much more support anytime soon.
Does anyone have any hands-on experience with Drupal and MSSQL? Or does anyone know of any MSSQL content management systems that come close to doing what Drupal can do?
We are getting ready to deploy Drupal 8. Rather than deploying it to a single server and connecting to a database on the local server, we would like to have Drupal connect to a database cluster. And, rather than a single server for the site, we would like multiple web servers for load-balancing. So, the single Drupal 8 site installation across all web servers would use the same database tables in the database cluster. We would hope users logged into any of the web servers would be able to make updates and Drupal should handle all locking issues with the shared database tables.
I'm looking into using Drupal as the "back end (ish)" for a web site I want to build. In my research I have discovered the concept of "hybrid" Drupal, where you use Drupal to organize the site and for the navigation controls around a "frame" where you can then put regular web-based content. My question is: What can go in that frame? Can you put anything that would go on a normal, plain-vanilla web page? What about "unhosted web apps"?
I'm brand new to Drupal, ERPs, connecting to DB, etc. I'm looking to getting approval from my boss to use Drupal vs Wordpress so I'm in research stage at the moment.
I was hoping someone can tell me if Drupal 8 can talk directly to an ERP called Infor M3 or if additional software is required to make them talk to each other.
I tried reading up on web services but that all just flew by my head.
Hello everyone,
I'm part of a non-profit organization that takes care of stray dogs and cats in Spain.
I want to create a website / management site for me and my colleagues to help ourselves and our animals.
