Before you start

I'm considering using drupal for building a hotel reservation system. Is it suitable for the job? And is there any module that supports such a system in drupal?

I am in the process of attempting to build a multiple site "farm" (for lack of better description) for my small business.

I want to build and host multiple site on the same server if possible. I have the following needs:

1 Non- branded site which is focused on the industry in which my business is in.
1 branded site which is focused on my specific company.
Multiple sites that are focused on product lines.
Multiple sites focused on specific products which fall under the product lines.

I want to redesign my website photo to picture using the drupal platform. I wanted to know if drupal had a plugin that will allow a customer to upload a photo but will notify the customer if the photo is to low of resolution. I also wanted to know if there any plugins that would allow the customer to design there own artwork.

We are considering Drupal as an option for our new WEB platform.

From what I have read, Drupal 7 seems to be designed to run on highly distributed environments, like AWS.

Now, is there any real competitor to Drupal which runs on AWS and offers the same (or better) flexibility, easy of use and robustness?

Does anyone know how Drupal 7 compares to the solutions below (Cost is not an issue):

• Oracle WebCenter Sites 11g;
• OpenText WCM 8.1;
• Sharepoint 2010;
• Others(??).

My first post here so please be gentle ;-)

Firstly, I must apologise if this is in the wrong area or if it has already been answered elsewhere. I have looked around for answers but still not found what I'm looking for so hence my post. I am a beginner to Drupal and am finding getting my head around the concepts a little difficult.

Q. What am I looking for?
A. Pretty much a quick answer to just get me pointed in the right direction for a start!

Q. What do I want to do?
A. I want to create a site where the following occurs:

• Individual users can register and create content.
• Content will consist of an individual entities that themselves consists of images and text.
• A user can create as many individual entities as they like.
• An entity can have as many images attached to it as the administrator determines (sitewide rules).
• Blogging/tweeting functionality for each individual entity so the entity owner can communicate with those viewing it.
• An administration screen to be available to users to manage their entities to:
• Add/remove entities.
• Add/remove/update images.
• Add/remove/update text.
• A search function such that other users/visitors can search the site for entities matching their input.

Should I use drupal to create a e commerce website for indian users. Which is the best module to use with drupal.
