We run a podcast website, where we have been publishing the podcasts on iTunes using a Wordpress site until now.
For several reasons, we would like to migrate the site to Drupal and things are looking very well.
As it's a paid membership site, we need to find a way to protect the itunes podcasts so that they can be downloaded on iTunes if you are a paying member only (som of the podcasts are free, though).
Can anyone please tell us if this is possible in Drupal and, perhaps, in what direction we should look for more info about this?
I'm working on updating our event site - and in the process of researching cool State Fair websites, I noticed the Puyallup Fair.. www.thefair.com
In their schedule, they have a 'My Fair Planner', where a logged in user can create their own personalized schedule to save and print, by adding calendar items from the main event schedule.
Is there a way I can do something similar on my site? Here is a link to what I am talking about:
Hello. I am not a programmer, and have no Drupal experience, but am planning to partner with a programmer to form a social network, aiming for a large site for a general audience.
Based on the preponderance of opinions found in my surfing, Drupal is the most robust and well designed core platform for low budget startups. However the opinions are very ambivalent over using Drupal for a social network.
One programmer said it took him 50 modules for a Drupal social network, resulting in a nightmare to synchronize and maintain. He suggests JomSocial.
In reply to "Positives and negatives of drupal for social networks?" (2011) tkrajcar of Grammy365.com said it was a "serious challenge" to build a Drupal-based social network in 2009, but that better options are increasingly available.
Can someone please help with the following questions?
I find 28 modules listed at: Community Documentation: Community building and social networking modules. Presumably I might get by with just a few of these modules? If so, which are the most essential?
Hello all.
I would like to have a database with several tables. Each table will have some records. e.g. table Books will have 2 columns (title, author). Users will login and be able to create, delete or update a record of a table. A user will be able to do those actions ONLY for his records in the table (other users' records may not be visible to him).
Is it possible to do this with drupal? If yes, please give me some instructions on how to get started with this project (modules, distributions, themes, etc.).
I don't understand the organization here. If I don't like the standard forum in Drupal how can I find a list of modules that offer improved forums? When I go to Modules Search there isn't even a module category for Forums. Uh, forums are a super-important feature. Why is there no category for them?
