Before you start

Hi,

I'm just starting to get into Drupal, which has been pulling my hair off.

I've built numerous small and large (complex) websites using other platforms such as Wordpress, Joomla and many others including but not limited to Custom PHP/ASP development.

But now, i am being required to work on Drupal 7 and I have been reading alot and just keep getting more and more confused.

I'm totally new to Drupal and I would like to learn how to use it. Now, seems that Drupal 8 is on the way.
Is still Drupal 7 worth learning or it's better to wait for Drupal 8 to be released?

I would like to learn it from a book, and all the books that I found are about the 7th version of Drupal.
In addition, I think that a long time will pass before a good book on Drupal 8 will be released, so seems that Drupal 7 is the most "learnable" version up to now.

What do you think about it? Thanks in advance.

I MUST MAKE A WEBSITE, AND I WOULD LIKE TO USE THE CMS DRUPAL, BUT I HAVE TO USE THE ORACLE DATABASE.
I DON'T FIND INFORMATION OR DOCUMENTS AND NONE PUBLIC REFERENCE FOR THIS SOLUTION.
I FOUND FEW INFORMATION ON THE DRUPAL.ORG, BUT NOT ENOUGH
THERE ARE PUBLIC REFERENCE LIKE COMPANIES, ENTERPRISES, BANKS, GOVERNMENTS ECC. THAT USE THIS SOLUTION FOR OWN WEBSITE
I HAVE TO KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS SOLUTION. IF THERE ARE PROBLEMS OF COMPATIBILITY BETWEEN MODULES DRUPAL AND DATABASE ORACLE ?

Hello everybody,

having developed small to middle size websites using mainly WordPress, TYPO3 and Joomla as a base for roughly ten years I recently stumbled upon Drupal (again). What intruiged me about the system was the (apparently) great flexibility in regards to content display using nodes and views.

Hey i am new to drupal and on web design... is there a post or something to tell me how i can start make a website with the drupal step by step i mean? cause i am really new to this?

I'm quite new to Drupal. Tried it but given up 'cause I'm not very patient :/
Anyway I'm thinking about doing a website for my Music Collection and have looked at this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeHdcBFk2Os and thought that it might be a good solution for my music site.
