Multiple blogs?

Wow. I read a post that seemed to indicate you could only have one blog per person. Is that right? I'm looking for a solution in which I can write several blogs (on totally different topics) all from one admin panel. I'll be the only one posting, so I don't care about blogs for my users. Just multiple blogs for me.

Moving File Repository/Comunity website from Joomla/Remository

Hi drupals,

All comunity sections are "normal", nothing fancy and i will skip them.

My main concern is related to file management system, i need to know how drupal is dealing with them:

  • good handling big files (2M - 400M)
  • bulk upload at least for administrators
  • resume dl/up for users
  • upload big files (over 100M) maybe using an ftp transfer protocol, normal scripts are limited by webserver upload limit or script execution time
  • great documents browser at front end:
sorting by different criteria (if criteria can be customized is a bonus):
    • by custom groups
    • by date submited
    • # downloads
    • ratings
    • comments
    • related with other files
  • user rating and comments for each file
  • a relevant search and anvanced search
  • rss especially for this section
  • dinamic limitations for users (max # of complete downloads/KB per user/IP take an action like suspend account for a period of time or notifying the user) or calculating throught a rewarding points system to set levels for each user (to give extra permisions for user which uploaded files, posted comments/posts/rates)
  • a good logging system # downloads, KB per user, IP, country. User tracking IP and country.
  • pdf and zip (seaching in pdfs contents, checking zip and pdf integrity) features is considered a bonus

How closely can Drupal mimic this?

I am building a site for drag racing enthusiasts. Since my last post, my design plans have undergone some changes, so I'm presenting a new set of "Can Drupal do this" questions. I'm hoping someone can help me understand how closely I can pull this off (along with some of the currently available modules/plugins).

I'm working toward a page layout very similar (primarily focused on the center column & tag cloud in upper right).

Of particular importance, I want:
(1) A clean, structured post including a thumbnail and blurb of text including:
...(A) title
...(B) brief description
...(C) who submitted it
...(D) when it was posted
(2) When you click through to an item you see a lengthier display including:
...(A) lengthier description
...(B) embedded video or photo (if appropriate for that particular item)
...(C) email to friends *
...(D) keyword tags attributed to this post
...(E) thumbnail links to other posts with related tags
...(F) thumbnail links to other random (or perhaps top rated/most popular) posts
...(G) and one thing not shown on the link above.... a 1-10 rating system so that people can rate the post with a single click
(3) The tag cloud linking to related posts is very cool. I love the way that works, so it's pretty important to me.

RSS XML Newsfeed - import link'ed item content?

Hi all –

A non-Drupal specific question, but application is on Drupal platform….

Any input or pointers to technical resources would be appreciated….

Wish to import *full text* of external RSS feed News Articles into MY database…i.e. users will view full text of News Article on my site, rather than be redirected to external URL

To publish articles in the main page

Hello. I am new in Drupal and at the time of publishing an article in the main page I would like that single she left a part this article and the others left in reading more. That since one becomes? I have tried to look for, but I have not found anything.

Transfering from Mambo/Joomla to Drupal

Hi guys,

I'm learning a lot from these forums and I've searched quite a bit on this topic, but I haven't come up with answers. Hope you can help. :)

The Goal
I'm really keen to move my blog from Joomla to Drupal.
The main reason is I like the way Drupal handles comments, and it appears other blog features (tags, trackbacks, tag clouds) can be achieved using modules.
