Before you start

Say you've got a site that you're happy with and want to create more sites with the same or similar features.
Any tips on how to do this as quickly as possible? Do you start with the tar or copy the working on?.
How do you deal with database if you use the working one?

I will be making a rather simple ecommerce website for a company, but they requested that payments should be made using ePassporte virtual credit cards( https://www.epassporte.com/ ). I haven't seen ePassporte mentioned anywhere on the drupal website, so I doubt that the feature is enabled for the ecommerce module.

Can you tell me what are the purposes of the following PHP configuration directives adviced for Drupal?
session.save_handler: user
session.cache_limiter: none

Using them means compiling and using my own PHP executable in my account, which means I won't be able to enjoy automatic upgrades to PHP done by my hosting company. What happens if I don't use these directives? Is it worth it?
