Hello all,
I have been reading as most info as possible over the last 72 hours on various CMS products, and every time built-in multi-site functionality has come up, Drupal was recommended 9 times out of 10. I have been coming all the literature and these forums looking to see if what I want to do is best accomplished with Drupal, but am running into some confusion mostly I think because I have never used Drupal before, so here goes so maybe someone can let me know if I am on the right track...
I am developing a web service for a group of people who independantly represent a line of products...
My idea of the implementation is this...
Develop a base set of content such as news, catalog, downloadable files, product and company information which is standard across the board for all of the product representatives, so they would all need the same info on their sites. I will be maintaining this information for them as a part of this service, and I only want to update each of these items once...
In the beginning there will be about 15 - 20 sites developed with 90 % of the info on the sites the same, however I want each to have the ability to choose a different template and create some independent content such as a bio and contact information. They may also feel that one aspect of the products is most important to them, so they will focus some info on their site about this aspect.
