Can 3rd party PHP scripts be used with Drupal?

I have several projects that I am going to be working on and recently discovered Drupal. I have installed it, and had a chance to play around with its features attempting to learn exactly how to use it. I have several 3rd party PHP scripts that use MySQL that I had planned to use before discovering Drupal. Can 3rd party scripts run along side and in harmony with Drupal? I would also be interested in paying someone to turn these into modules for me (if that is possible). I would need these same scripts/modules on multiple sites that would be Drupal based. Any info is appreciated.

How flexible is the plumbing? (Drupal vs RAD Frameworks)

I've been asked to develop a web application where I get to also develop the concept collaboratively with the client. What he is looking for is a balance between features and turn around time. I was looking at

http://webschuur.com/publications/blogs/2006-12-26-the_cmc_and_cmf_lands...

and had roughly the same idea but I'm still not sure about Durpal's flexibility. Development time seems to go up quick with not much flexibility and noting the author of the post

if you want to stretch ... Drupal beyond the grey ellipse, the required effort (costs!) will shoot up: using Drupal for something it is not good at, is considered dangerous.

Drupal seems to have a lot of preexisting functionality that I could make use of but I'm not quite sure just how flexible this is or how quickly I'll be stretching Drupal beyond the grey ellipse.

The plan is to have a list of profiles for venues and artists. Each artist and venue will have a user-submittable calendar of shows(but we're staying away from calendar views, it will be more like a list). Shows, artist, and venues should have revisions. Revisions should only be accessible by the people with the right permission. Users should be able to add any show to their personal show list. Ideally

Install on one.com?

Hi,

Anyone tried to install Drupal on one.com (former b-one.com)? Can Drupal use prefix in datebases (tables)? On one.com you only have one database and I already have some things there that uses the datebase (with prefix) and I'm interested in finding out if the can coexist.

Thanks in advance

Legal module

Anyone know whether there is a patch written to update the Legal Module for 5.0?
This is an important module for some of us and don't see an update, though I see a reference to "porting" it which, frankly, I don't understand.
Thanks in advance.

Creating Online Order Form(s)

Hello, I have a few questions before I spend too much time spinning my wheels. I have searched Drupal all over, but am not finding clear answers. (I searched using keywords "form" and "input", but that was too broad.)

Basically I'd like to let people fill out a form on my site and submit it to me as an order. For the moment I am not trying to tie it in to a payment system, but that would be nice too.

Am I correct in thinking that I can use CCK to create a node type of say...something like "Order"? Then I authorize users in to roles that can create that kind of node?

Is drupal viable for my website concept? (OpenAcademic related)-

Hi there,

Thanks for looking over this. I would appreciate any feedback you could have on it.

I currently run a website called Course-Notes.Org. It is a website designed to help high school students improve their grades in school by studying more effectively. The website has many free resources including notes, outlines, vocabulary terms, practice quizzes as well as an active forum where students can help and receive help from others students with questions they might have regarding a specific topic.

I originally started this website when I was a sophomore in high school due to the fact that there weren't many other websites out there like it, and those that did exist were very poorly maintained. Now, four years later, it receives over 10,000 unique visitors per day and has a forum membership of over 45,000 members. The website originally only had US History content on it, but now it has resources for 7 classes in total. So the website has grown quite a bit, but I think there is much more room for it to grow. However, I think it would be easiest (and better) if I started a brand new website that would provide resources and services for students, as well as teachers and parents.
