I'm building a timesheet application that will allow employees to enter in their timesheets associated with various projects and allow a visual rendering in the form of a calendar. Would using the drupal framework benefit me here?
The reason why I think it could be beneficial is that it already provides user administration, permissions and a framework so that it's easier to make edits to in the future. I was thinking that all required functionalities could be created as modules.
I'm looking for a blogging software, if possible free (OS) and i found Drupal amongst others. I do have i very important question. Multiple users are supported in Drupal but what i'm looking for is a multiuser blog system that supports domain names per user. For example, someone who doesn't own a domain name would use subdomain (username as his subdomain), people who have domain names could use those and it would point to their blog. Is this supported in Drupal or by using a plugin?

I'm OK with Linux system administration but not familiar with CMSs. I'm doing an evaluation of our future CMS. This IMO what we need:
I am currently planning a Drupal website but I am very confused with the online documentation. Additionally the internet in my area is extremely slow at the moment which makes it even harder to not have any documentation which I can download. I assume that everything would be clearer if I could install and try everything out, but it is not possible for me right now.
