One of our main requirements for a CMS is that it is able to support a wide variety of languages and also the easy integration of new languages e,.g. ukrainian, tamil etc I understand that drupal already support quite a number of languages but is there a way we can actually integrate more languages?
Drupal looks excellent, but I was wondering how difficult it would be to first deploy an installation in a subdirectory of the site, to test and develop it, and then when it was ready, to move it back to the root, with as little intermediate downtime as possible. Is it as simple as changing a line in a config file, or do I need to make changes in various places?
I've been looking around at drupal installations, and was wondering whether it was possible to get rid of the /node/ nomenclature for pages. I know you can *also* call pages by another name, but I would like to use drupal on a professional website and would prefer there to be no node links at all (I think we can change the links for pages we create, but for things like login and other stuff, the nodes remain, don't they?)
Thank you, and sorry if this is documented somewhere,
My host is offering auto-install of various scripts, and offers both Drupal v4.7 and v5 -- which would be better to install for a brand-new user, with emphasis on e-commerce, store, and image display? Also, how easy are the templates for someone good at HTML/CSS? I already have a sharp design for the site, but need the various script thingies to handle content display (screenshorts of page designs) and e-sales. I've used phpNuke before, but it seems a bit amateurish to me; what I've seen so far of Drupal appears much more appropriate for a real business application.
Looking for the program to automatically add thumbnails to the bottom of the entry/article just like in that link (which will then be clickable to larger hi-res photos) just like that link.
I would like to offer users the possibility to attach images to forum postings. Can this be achieved with the internal drupal forums? Or is integration of a 3rd party software required? Any help and advice will be appreciated. Herb
