Before you start

Hi there,

I am currently looking for a CMS/Framework to build a new site and I'm not familiar with Drupal.

As the topic states, is it possible to have a content page that is editable by any registered user (i.e without assigning them special access)? It will need to be published automatically and without anyone's approval. It'll be a sort of WIKI page, but without the permission to create other pages.

And does Drupal have automatic version control? If so, does it keep the entire history of a particular page, or the last X versions?

We are looking at Drupal for our site. Our site requires members to log in to interact with the system. We would ideally not want them to click through to the drupal elements and be required to relogin.

Is this possible? Assuming so but haven't seen any 'How to Integrate with your own website' questions or responses. Is it a nightmare or relatively easy? Where can we get pointers?

Any questions to make this more specific/useful?

Jane comes to our website, she decides to register, then on the signup form is presented with the option of free lifetime membership or paid yearly membership.

Hi, I would like to use Drupal and a links list module to put up a very large database of mental health resources. It now lives in an outline online at www.Psychinnovations.com/dir and gets a lot of traffic, but the outline method leaves a lot to be desired. It can't be searched, users can't add items, it takes me forever to update it because I have to use two programs to convert the data from Action Outline, where it lives on my hard drive, into the form it takes online (as a collapsing/interactive outline), etc...

I'd love to have this be easy to update, accept community input, and have the other features of a links list.

I'd really appreciate any suggestions as to how to proceed with this, so I can put out a request for bids, and do some of the work myself,

I'll need to put out the data in a form that can be imported into the appropriate MySQL database, and I'll need to select a links module, or have a dedicated directory links program use the same database, or forget about Drupal using the data and just link into the links direcory.

I figure some day, I will be glad that I kept all the data going through Drupal, so this is my first choice, even if it means being a little skimpy on directory features.

I recently purchased "Building Online Communities with Drupal, PHPBB and Wordpress" with the intention of learning about how to use Drupal. I also run Wordpress and PHPBB on some sites so I figured there might be some helpful stuff on those as well.
