This is my first time doing anything with security or content manage so not sure what questions to ask so bare with me.
I have created a website interface for a client and want to use this same interface when users are logging in to secure areas. When they get to these secure areas I still want to have my interface. Is this possible using Drupal or a module add on?
If yes then can I simply use an iframe to float the login in area within the interface I have created?
How do I know what to incorporate into my web pages to call the page/scripts I need?
The only problem I've ever had with drupal is upgrading... wish I didn't have to manually upgrade... :/
So my question is: in your opinion do you think apt on Ubuntu could upgrade drupal well enough, so that (1) it doesn't break too often after an upgrade and (2) it remains generally secure.
I am a web site designer with no experience of security or content management systems.
I have already made the website, however, my client wants access to certain web pages and pdf files restricted to a login using a password they supply. They also only want these logins to be valid for a certain period of time. Is this possible with Dupal?
Do I need to use the Dupal interface to be able to use the login component?
I am with an activists movement looking for a website solution. Hoping to get advice as for the right software to work with. Please notice that my web authoring skills are limited to finding my way around basic HTML and using an FTP client.
The website will provide the following services:
About the movement
News, activities, announcements, etc.
Forum
Events calendar
An articles and information database in the form of a wiki. Users can write/edit material about various subjects.
Groups which are working on a project can easily create a mini-portal. Groups can have a profile, a blog, a forum and an events calendar. This can serve as a communication center for the members and can also act as a public portal. The administrator can give out permissions to users to edit the profile, post in the blog, add events to the calendar, and so on.
Profile: Can act as a public portal, possibly describing the nature of the group and it's activities.
Blog: News and announcements about the group's activities, plans, etc..
Forum: Communication between the group`s members and also with the public.
In my Menu's Primary links I inserted a "Login/Register" link to http://mydomain.com/user, i would like change its Weight and Title but isn't possible because it appears as "locked" insetad of "edit | disable | delete"
We are building one site, that sells annual paid subscriptions (memberships) to online content (example: newsletters). Each person can buy access to one or more newsletters, and view all the content they paid for in their members area - using one login.
Ideally, subscribers will access each content area via a menu link. So when a user buys (say) 3 subscriptions, they see a menu link for each of the 3 content areas. Someone with 2 subscriptions, sees 2 menu links.
I am wondering if this can be achieved with Drupal.
