How to Create Multi-Site Control Center

Hi All,

I am a new Drupal user and I must say that its fascinating. My question is this, I want to create one central login for all my drupal websites. I currently have 5 websites I would like to manage them from one interface.

A Series of Questions Pre-Drupal: From A Non-Developer

Hey everybody,

I've been lurking around the site for a few days, reading through the handbooks and the material that I can get my hands on and I have come to the decision, at least I think, that Drupal will be the appropriate fit for my project.

I'm about to begin working on a site, http://notquiteivy.com, which will essentially be a blog.

I want to install Drupal as my CMS as I believe that Drupal will serve my needs as well as give me plenty of room for growth in the future should I decide to add community-type functionality, etc.

However, as I am not a developer (at least not yet), and have not worked with any sort of web-programming language (I'm limited to CSS and XHTML, but I'm rusty as I haven't done any real work on the web since highscool--I'm currently 20) there were a few questions that I wanted to ask the community...

...First, though, some basic information.

My hosting is via dot5hosting, they support pretty much everything.
I've never had my own domain, nor ever installed anything on my server.
I'll be using Drupal to manage the content/structure my blog-based site, with all my articles being archived, newest articles being posted on the front, the potential for community support (this will be particularly important to other projects I have in mind), articles having permalink capabilities, and the ability to be instantly added to Digg, etc.

Small college concerned with workflow

I'm the webmaster at a small college (just under 1,000 students) in the American Midwest. We currently have a CMS that was home made a few years ago and since then everyone directly connected to the project has moved on, leaving no support for a system that was never that great to begin with. It does, however, handle workflow really well despite not doing much else. I'm looking to replace it with a PHP-based CMS that has a lot of community support. So far, it looks like Drupal and TYPO3 are my best bets, each with it's own pros and cons. I have started playing with test sites in both of those CMSes and I am much more drawn to Drupal. However, the workflow module in Drupal is either lackluster or I just don't understand how to use it yet.

My biggest concern so far is regarding how to set up user permissions well and creating good workflows. Can I do this with Drupal? How? Please remember I'm not a developer and I've got a limited budget, so I want to stick to already developed modules as much as possible while still achieving my goals.

Roles - five types

Visitor

- no login necessary, access to most of the site.

Student

(1000 users) - access to privileged content with login (SSO with Moodle), can be assigned to groups by admin/content manager.

can I make my current website the skin for drupal exactly as it is now

Hi,

Sorry I am a newbie to CMS and slowly trying to decide what is the best thing for my client.

I believe I can make my current website be the skin for drupal and still look exactly as it is now.

How do I transfer my current website interface to be the one for drupal?

Do I need a module to do this?

Is it complicated, do I need to use scripting?

Long story short, I need to do this in a hurry. I know quite a bit about computers and web design, however, not that up on scripting. Is it easy or should I pay someone else to do it?

Authentication with Novell e-directory

Hi,

Our company uses Novell to validate user logon. Can Drupal integrate with Novell e-Directory?
