Before you start

I'm fairly new to Drupal, which one would you recommend for installation and what is the difference between the two versions? Is 4.7 more stable and does it have more modules? Thank you!

I'm currently setting up a new backend for my personal website using Drupal. Right now I'm in the process of creating a theme.

Apart from my blog, I would like to post content like computer hardware reviews and how-tos. It's common practice for these to be seperated into multiple pages, typically with "Previous" and "Next" buttons on each page and a drop down list for direct access. You can have a look at an example at AnandTech (look near the bottom of the page).

Is it possible to use an RSS feed to input posts for each part of the feed? So for example for a news feed would it be possible to put in the feed url and for it to post an article for each news article?

I have given up the category module (for this moment).
The reasons are the following:
- the module is too slow for production site
- the module is not enough maintained
- taxonomy-related module don't all work with the category module (like the taxonomy super select).
- it is staying a special module, instead of moving to core.

looking forward to use Drupal for my sites.

I have alot of sites (approx. 20 sites, different domains).

in my case, how will i be able to use a single drupal installation on all the domains? i want to have a seperate database for each domain, where the content will be unique for each site.

anything that will allow me to do so? maybe a module, or something.

I am new to Drupal, and I have been looking all over for the ranking of modules and themes based on popularity/downloads. Where do I find this list? Doresn't Drupal.org track the number of downloads or visits to each module and theme?
