I need to know if Drupal can help me build a site?

I'm looking for a program like this or something like joomla to help me build the following site.

A site similar to myspace in the since that people can subcribe to my site and create a page of their own. It will be a payed site. People need to be able to upload a video to that page as well. Their site should be at say example.com/myname. This isn't going to be a social site, more of something like they are building an online portfolio to display their talent for something.

Let me know if Drupal can do these things so I can get started, thanks.

Can Drupal DO THis

Hi,

I have to implement a Tiered Security section on our web site.

There will be at least 3 levels:

Level 1, any visitor cannot see Level 2 or 3 pages

Level 2, can see level 1 & 2 pages

Level 3, Can see all pages

Of course the admin we'll call level 10.

Also is it posible to have a Java Menu on all pages?

Thanks

Rich

Drupal right for family site?

Hi - I'm setting up a site for my family, who are spread across the face of the globe as if trying to keep as much distance as possible between ourselves! I've (finally) got a domain and some webspace for us, and found that my host offers drupal as one of their CMS options. Hmmm.

Pre-installation questions: security concerns

Hi everybody:

I am thinking on installing drupal as the homepage of a little village, but I am concerned about various topics:

Spam publications: How do you handle robot publications of comments?? Are there a validation code you have to write down or anything similar?? In the registration process, users are asked to entry a code writen in an image shown?

Images: It is easy to add images to a particular content??

i18n language prefix + SEO

I am looking to create a Spanish translation for ~300 page drupal site. I'd like to use the i18n module, but don't want to change the urls of my English pages for SEO reasons. My urls are currently domain.com/products/overview and I don't want to have the domain.com/en/products/overview alias as part of the site. [i18n seems to automatically assign the en/ prefix to everything]

For the translated site I would like to either use domain.es/products/overview (preffered) or domain.com/es/products/overview

Shared Users / Roles / Subdomains = possible?

Thanks for looking, I've got a question about the possibilities of Drupal with a setup I need.

I have a site that resides at:
http://www.mysite.com/

I would like my users to be able to register and select a role (Role A / Role B / Role C / Role D). Their content would then reside at:
http://roleA.mysite.com/user
http://roleB.mysite.com/user
For example.
