I am trying to understand how a hierarchical taxonomy works. I thought that a selection/search of a parent term would also list the children. Apparently this is not the case, isn't it?
Example:
I have a vocabulary named 'Realm'.
The 'Realm' taxonomy hierarchy looks about like this:
1. education
1.1 preparatory school
1.2 secondary school
1.2.1 senior secondary certificate
1.3 tertiary education
I'm looking at creating a new site, which I'd like to initially setup basically as a list of the latest forum threads on the home page. Like a small focused forum.
I realize its possible to set the default front page, but that wouldn't address the issue of the breadcrumbs all being wrong etc? (Eg "Home > Forum > The Forum Thread Title" wouldn't make sense, as both the first two links would go to the same content) ?
I'm looking to download and install Drupal so I can test it, but there's a problem. I don't have a program on my computer (I use Windows XP) that can handle tarballs or similar compressed items. One of the servers I'm testing on has a decent unzip utility in its file manager, but that can't handle tar.gz's either. Is there any (free, mind you) program I can use to decompress Drupal?
im planning to start the web development of my project from mid july .. im confused on which version of drupal to use 5.1 or 6??
as 6 is releasing ... support for 5.1 will reduce......
I have a website, Seventies Webdesign , which I am currently managing through a html program. I am not so happy with it, becuase it costs me a lot of time to do updates or create a new page.
Would it be better to do this site with Drupal? And if yes, how should I procede?
