Newbie question: Does the Aggregator Actually put the RSS articles into blog or story entries?

Sorry, newbie here. I searched but could not figure this out. Does the Aggregator simply shows the RSS feeds to the page, or does it actually create blog entries or stories entries from the feed content, as if I have pasted it into the posts myself? I have a site (altenergytoday.com) that just shows what's in the feed, but does not store the info. I'd love to store it so people can comment on them and have it provide more searchable pages for me.

Drupal for an e-commerce site?

Hi all.

I have sucessfully installed Drupal and have it working and it seems like it will be absolutely perfect for a few sites I am working on now, but I am trying to determine if Drupal will be a decent wrapper for an e-commerce site I am building.

I had built a preliminary look and feel version of the site using Dreamweaver with HTML + javascript for some image swapping behavior and most of the products are displayed using tables. I had planned on using MySQL to both to populate the website's dynamic content and track inventory.

Can I have forms that collect text + attachments and then let me view the results in an interface, export if needed?

Hi. I'm not yet a Drupal user. We're thinking of doing a community site with it. Just found out it may cover one of my other existing needs.

We offer trainings, meetings, grants, scholarships, etc. Currently people apply via email/Word, which is stupid. We need for people to be able to apply for them online. Their applications have to have certain associated files as attachments (e.g. certificates, licenses, etc., can't just be text).

I, a non-coder, have been able to do web forms simply in places such as SurveyMonkey, but still can't do attachments. Hosts with turn-key site building tools may offer feedback form building blocks, but again, no attachments, and the results go to email. I have read here about the Drupal webform, Mail Attach, and upload modules. They all sound like they're in the neighborhood of what I need but I can't quite tell.

In Drupal, could I have a web form that collects text answers in fields and on the same page has slots for people to upload attachments and then submit the whole lot together as one application record?

Some general advice for a newbie to Drupal with grand ideas!!

Ok the basics:

I use mac OSX 10.3.9....UK based

Not bad at CSS and HTML hand coding, loads to learn but i understand most of it.

The real question?

Well i run a business that is offering web design/development amongst other things like video (more my current specialty)

A recent job i am possibly going to undertake will require the following:....php, Mysql, database stuff...ALL NEW TO ME!...advice or tips on any stumbling blocks on even the most basic areas welcomed, like testing, initial design from themes, any tips to get started, i have never installed Drupal to a server and not sure if i need my MACS PHP enabled and Mysql installed, if so, is this for testing remotely or can i just send to my host server any files updated and test like that (at a time cost so seems dumb but im green here) etc....advice here on this most basic issues very welcome!

So requirements are:

E-commerce (new to this and worried about what payments drupal modules currently allow (UK based) unlikely to sell abroad, and any security issues with the module and drupal as the CMS behind it.......ideally want VISA/DELTA card payment service not just paypal...and nochex!!

Site search engine, i assume a little reading will suffice here, any advice always welcomed though....

Can I keep my urls with trailing slashes?

I have a site that has been through a few versions, but, so far, I have managed to keep urls unchanged. I would also like to have hierarchical urls, and to generate some index pages.

The current urls are of the form:

http://example.com/mine/
