I have no idea pls help me

I have installed drupal and got up to the administrator page but after that no idea? how can I set up my site and how can i later update it using cms.

using subdomain as a test environment then transfering drupal site to public_html on lunarpages

Hi All,

I have been searching the forums here and at lunarpages, and I am in need of some assistance.

I currently have a static html site on lunarpages. It is accessed by typing www.example.com in the address field of the browser. The pages are kept at www.example.com/public_html. I want to keep this site live while I install, test and develop a drupal site at a subdomain called www.tester.example.com. I then want to move the drupal site to www.example.com/public_html, and have the site accessible by typing www.example.com in the browser address bar. I then want to be able to test and develop changes to the drupal site at www.tester.example.com, before moving them to the live site at www.example.com/public_html which would be viewed by typing www.example.com, for the home page. So basically, I want to set up a test site at www.tester.example.com that will allow me to test changes before they are seen by the public at www.example.com.

Book website... can drupal handle this

I will be creating a massive book list and want to organize the books by multiple catagories (department, ISBN, author, etc). I want the list to be searchable by all those different fields. Is this possible within a drupal module? I need drupal to allow for this resource to be accessed only for members. I know I can just create a mysql database and write up a simple script to search through the database, but can I just throw this onto a drupal page? Is there anyway to access this database from the drupal admin interface?

Thanks in advance

Advice about drupal use please

Hi,
I've only just come across drupal and I'm a bit lost with so many options to look at. Need to put a site together and I've got nearly 3000 pages of content to get into it. The content is organised into about 10 main sections with each section having many categories and subcategories. All the content needs to be cross referenced, it also constantly revised and up dated so some sort of version control would be very useful.

Updating the node and ec_product tables directly

I want my Filemaker-based system to update records in the node, ec_product and other tables by modifying the fields in the MySQL database directly. For instance, when an item that is also for sale in our bricks & mortar store sells at the cash register. But I'm not sure which fields in which tables to modify in order to basically duplicate what happens when I unpublish something on the Drupal end. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Complex agent site - will drupal do this?

The site I'm creating needs:
Most important- a custom template. Can I have a completely custom design, or can I only change elements in existing templates?

If I can use a template of my own design, does drupal have the ability to have different layouts for different pages? For example, large body block on home page, three columns on another, 2 or 3 separate text blocks (each separately editable) with a small calendar block on each that links to a page with all calendar contents.

Users created by admin only, individual profiles editable by both user and admin.

Pages of links to content that can be entered into categories, and sorted automatically when new content is added, i.e.: new link added, then admin clicks "sort by alpha" or "sort by date" etc, which will cause the list to show that way on the public pages.

Also, when admin adds new user, the list can be sorted by alpha, or in the case of the incentive programs, sort my highest to lowest.
