Before you start

My cousin (a car mechanic) wants a website for his business. Basically he wants some static pages and an image gallery that he can add to (without my intervention). Since i recently started using Drupal for one of my websites (and now plan to use it for all 4), it would be nice if i could use the same program for his as well since I have to maintain it. Nice for me, but is it feasible?

a few years ago I designed this site for a friend's light & sound rental service: www.skylight-vt.de

Now that I've just created my first drupal site, I'd like to convert that one, too.

The core part of the site is the rental item database. For now, when there are new additions to the rental park, the database of the rental management software is exported as a CSV file, imported manually in phpmyadmin, and put out by a simple home-made php-function.

Would it be possible to build a site pretty much identical to Twitter using Drupal?

The basic concept is micro-blogging. 150 character "blog posts" without titles aggregated on each users page. How would you go about making this?

I've used Drupal before, and I wanted to know if it would be a viable solution for my next project. I wanted to design a networking site for a certain niche of professionals. In this site, I would like them to direct forums on their own, have private messaging, be able to post bios and/or resumes to their bio. In addition to this, I would like users to be able to invite friends, co-workers, and colleagues to use the site as well. Another part of the site is that I would like to have professional information passed along from me and other people in the profession back to the users.

I'm looking to put together a website for my university research lab, where we have researchers (students, staff, faculty, collaborators), projects, groups that aggregate projects, and publications (a la the biblio module) associated with multple researchers and projects. The main initial feature that we're interested in to start with is being able to add new publications in a single location/form and have them appear on a publications list on pages associated with the researchers and projects who published them.

I'm working on a site where different users select how they feel about different issues.
Its relatively easy to setup with CCK & Views,
But i would like to be able to batch-edit issues.

is there a way to do this? i saw the editview module, sounds like its not quite what i want. Anyone got any suggestions? or will it need to be a custom module?
