I was just surprised when I bumped into this age old issue that stretches at least 4 main releases (from 5.x - 8.x) of Drupal. Has the Drupal community any agreed policy that somehow sets goals in terms of Service Quality? I just wonder how an issue can exist for so long, even when it seems so small a thing as making some hard coded values configurable?

Yes, I know, it must have been something of low priority to the community, but still there must have been people really annoyed by this. How can this annoyance be prevented? A fix to the example issue might or might not make it in version 8 and was posted already back in 2005! There will be users that still work with version 6 and will never see the fix, will need to hack in core, because of (imho) a stupid rule. Why can't a fix be for all supported versions? The issue was valid since 2005 and did not make it in many versions, so why not make another rule that will allow to fix these old issues also in previous versions? Have we become that rigid of mind not to see that it makes sense to break with traditions?

Hey I was just looking around on the internet and I found this website called Tutr.tv and I found the website to be very help and informative. I have only heard of a few other websites like this like Lullabot. I feel that people don't know about these websites so I was wondering if there was a way to inform the public. The main thing I was wondering if yall have ever heard about tutr.tv or any other websites like it?

I wanted to know if I can use Java(jsp) or coldfusion, or even possible Flash within a web page created with Drupal.

I want to use these programming languages to add applications or content within a page created with Drupal. I do not want to insert a link on a drupal page which will lead me to a Flash page, or a JSP page, or a cold fusion page. I hope I explained this clearly.

I am unable to use IRC and my IP has been greylisted on drupal.org. I don't know what's wrong. I didnt do anything. :(

I recently migrated my webcomic to Drupal 7 (that was already mentioned in the announcement section), after I migrated the site over everything worked the way that I expected it to. Most of the comic listing web pages my site is tracked on had little or no issue with the upgrade to my site. One of the obvious exceptions this was The Web Comic List. I had gone over to the site an noticed it was no longer being crawled and the listing was not being updated with the latest comic posting date.

The reason was because their crawler looks for the following information in the site code: <!-- Last Update: dd/mm/yyyy --> with the date code being the date the most recent comic was posted. Since I was not willing to manually update that information every time I posted a new comic, I looked for a way to do it automatically. I found a few code snippets over here in the forums that make that possible, and after a little trial and error I was able to find the right place for the code to be inserted into my site to have it work with their crawler.
