Hi everybody,
I'm a new user of Drupal and am very impressed by its power and flexibility, right now I'm creating a newspaper website and Drupal seems to offer everything I need. I come from using Movable Type which I think is a nice piece of software but not suited for what I want to do with this project.
Reading the Drpl documentation however, confuses me most of the time I find that I learn more by doing hands-on work on the system than trying to find the help I need in the hand books. Take for example the taxonomy module, a powerful concept with few examples on how to actually use it in the real world. It seems to me that the docs make it more complicated of what it already is.
As a user, I don't really care about the designing theory implications of the taxonomy module as interesting as this may be. As a user I want to learn how to divide my site into categories and that's it, if I want to dig deeper into the usage of a module, I have time to, trying to put together a production website is not really the moment to do that, though.
So I guess my request to the nice people who produce the documents is: try to put things into simple terms, try to give a lot of everyday examples. Remember, the handbook is the resource that a lot of newbies are going to use when they start with Drupal, and right now it can be a daunting thing for a beginner.
I really luv Drupal, thanks guys.
