This forum is for less technical discussions about the Drupal project, not for support questions.

Is there a way to store the image files automatically while copying contents from other website?

For example, when I am using FCKeditor or any WYSIWYG editor, I can copy paste contents from other website. But the images are not uploaded to my drupal, intead, the images shown in my drupal are still linked to the original server. This way, if someday those images are deleted from that server, my post in my drupal will lose those images.
My question is: is there an editor that support copy contents and upload images to the local server automatically? And point the link of those images to the local server automatically?

Making categories

Ok this is probably really easy to do but I am confused and can’t see where or how to do it.

This is my site www.mkpitstop.co.uk and it covers the following subjects

Computers
Gaming
Webmasters
Consoles

I want to place them in categories on the left menu and have articles show up on there category pages like it does on my main page now, and what ever I want on the main page I just can select it to the front page.

Just gotta say thanks Drupal, and 2 questions... :-)

Before I found out about Drupal I used Xoops mostly(toyed around with) and right now playing with Wordpress for my other site...

I'm uploading modules to my wordpress now and was thinking.. I just want to say thanks to whoever is responsible for making Drupal such an easy to use system and I really want to say thanks for the modules setup, namely the archived modules. I really appreciate the fact that all you have to do for mostly any Drupal thing is just unzip to the directory and be done, all structure is already built into the archive, unlike Xoops and Wordpress.

Those two systems archives are not universal which makes it a big mess trying to figure out what files go where and having to read every single readme, which gets old and leads to a lot of setup time, which isn't cool.

I also want to say thanks for .. sort of.. making the templates somewhat easy to edit, basically just editting the css file. I've been out of the web coding circle for some time and am having to re-learn and learn some new stuff to really get this stuff down again and get a nice looking site, but I do appreciate just the over all ease of use on this bad mofo!

I do have 2 questions though...

1. Where could I learn about writing a "how to" for Drupal?? Before I knew how to edit css and mess with the templates I didn't know anything and honestly the handbooks weren't helping me THAT much, so I'm interested in writtings sort of a "how to edit templates for dummies" kinda thing. Not a huge deal if I can't, just some tips and pictures. More or less as I learn to edit more or better I'd add to the how to I'd wager... Are there set standards for tech writing, where would I go to submit a work??

How do you get aware of new modules?

Hi all,

don´t you think that the modules download page should have a feed? How do you get aware of new modules? I´m tired of recorring the list one an other time. Is there an alternative form?

Thanks in advance!

Moving Drupal site from one host to another

I hope this isn't a FAQ:

I need to move my Drupal site from one host to another.

Can it be as simple as tarring on the old site and then untarring on the new? And then adjusting a few settings, of course ;-)

Can anyone who has been through this process give any pointers?

And, while I'm at it, I suppose I might as well upgrade to 4.7....

4.6-4.7 problems. Fatal error: Call to undefined function: drupal_bootstrap()

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: drupal_bootstrap() in /home/americ16/public_html/index.php on line 13

What am i doing wrong here? Do i have some 4.6 files mixed with some 4.7 files? I cant figure this out.

PLease help!
